A club for Lynn community will be ! organized next week under direc tion of Miss Gladys Hamrick, home | agent. McGavern at Kiwanis The Rev. Charles L. McGavern, was the guest speaker at the Try on Kiwanis club on Tuesday noon at Oak Hall and gave some inter | esting accounts of his work as chaplain at Craig Airfield, Selma, Ala. He was high in praise of ; the American fighting forces, es pecially the young men in the air corps and the officers operating the airfield so efficiently. Burkheads Moving Colonel Calvin H. Burkhead is expected in Tryon today to make arrangements to move to Fort Bragg where he is stationed. Col. and Mrs. Burkhead had made their home in Tryon for nearly two years, having come here to retire, but after Pearl Harbor the Colonel asked to be recalled to active service. The annual meeting of the Ers kine Memorial Congregational church will be held tonight at 7:45.
